“This is what I have missed so much, the great potential of theatre: One small stage, one performer, a subtle soundtrack and we are transformed, taken somewhere grand and horrible without ever leaving the room, and doing it together – if at a safe distance.” – Marsha Lederman, The Globe & Mail
Indian Summer Festival is delighted to invite you to a special performance of Vancouver-based novelist and playwright Anosh Irani’s play Buffoon at the Arts Club.
Buffoon is a one-person, one-act play, written by long-time ISF friend and alumnus Anosh Irani. It premiered at Toronto’s Tarragon Theatre, winning two Dora Awards, including for outstanding new play, and is now enjoying a special socially-distanced run in Vancouver until December 6th at the Granville Island Stage.
This special performance includes a post-show conversation between Anosh Irani and Sirish Rao, Artistic Director of Indian Summer Festival. Make sure to select the later (8pm) show on November 20th when selecting your ticket.
Arts Club has worked hard to make sure the show goes on as safely as possible during COVID-19. Capacity is limited to 50 people (in a theatre usually meant for 440) with enhanced health protocols for performers and audience. Please read their detailed instructions while selecting your ticket.
