Volunteers are invited to watch this video https://youtu.be/BvTS65QXTYU (mandala making starts at 1:44) to learn from Sheniz Janmohamed about principles of mandala making, intuitive design, and good ways to take pictures of them!
After that, we want YOU to make mandalas in your homes and yards across the province! Make only one, or make many! Post them on Instagram with the hashtag #isfmandalaproject, or if you don’t have Instagram, send us a picture of them on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will post them for you! This is how to be a volunteer with ISF in 2020 <3
At the end of July, this whole gallery will be compiled in a final document that will live at www.indiansummerfest.ca
To make your mandala please bring: anything you have in and around your house! Things you could use: Fruit wedges, spices, nuts/seeds, sliced vegetables, dried lentils/beans, berries, dried fruit, or even small toys, like lego pieces or building blocks! Beads, shells, small stones, leaves, twigs, flowers, pinecones, bits of jewelry all are great too. Basically anything with texture or colour that you enjoy, and whatever you have on hand is perfect!
