Aminah Khan is a creative innovator who has worked in marketing, communications and event production in several global hotspots from Mumbai to London, and now Vancouver.
Aminah is a trained journalist, with an MA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Sheffield and has done stints at major media outlets like the BBC, London. Before she turned to communications, she did a BA Hons in Hospitality Management which rewarded her with work and travel opportunities at ‘Leading Hotels of the World’ accredited properties in the Maldives and India.
Aminah’s considerable experience in the international creative sector comes from multiple roles within the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. As Head of the Creative Sector for India at UK Trade and Investment, she supported Indian businesses expanding into the UK. She then became the Project Manager for VIP events where she supported diplomatic initiatives including a Royal Visit, UK-India Tech Summit, and UK Healthcare Mission.
She is a published journalist, writer, poet, and dancer with a love for the arts and for culture, wellness and languages. She is an entrepreneur, pet sitter-photographer, shoe designer and health food chef in her spare time, as well as an advocate for mental health and women’s empowerment. She has served as committee chair for a local non-profit initiative, in addition to using social media as a means for social justice, awareness and peaceful advocacy. Her interests, even if seemingly unrelated, are all driven by the backbone of relationship building.
